
Biography
Gabrielė Bukinė completed her master's studies in vocal performance at the Music Academy of Vytautas Magnus University under the guidance of Professor Sabina Martinaitytė in 2021. That same year, she began her tenure as a teacher at the Academy of Music of VMU and made her debut at the Kaunas State Music Theater, performing leading roles. Currently, Gabrielė Bukinė is a soloist at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre and the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (LNOBT), as well as a lecturer in vocal performance at the Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy.

Massenet's Cendrillon, Anna in G. Verdi's Nabucco, Cizi Kniezna in A. Dvorak's Rusalka.
In September 2023, Gabrielė Bukinė emerged as the absolute winner of the esteemed 13th International Klaudia Taev Competition in Estonia, securing both the 1st Prize and the Audience Favorite titles. Since 2017, she has also been a laureate and finalist of fourteen other international competitions in Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Russia, and Kazakhstan, including several Grand Prix honors. She has received scholarships from the President of the Republic of Lithuania (Antanas Smetona Scholarship, twice), Intermedix Lietuva, R1 Lietuva, and Vytautas Magnus University (Honorary and Merit Scholarships), as well as Letters of Appreciation from the President of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė.
In 2022, she was awarded the Fortūna Statuette for her debut performances in 2021: Violetta (La Traviata — also nominated for the Golden Stage Cross) and Fiorilla (The Turk in Italy). In 2023, she received the Kaunas City Culture Award. In 2024, she was recognized by the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre as the Opera Hope of the Year and, by audience vote, the Favorite Soloist of the Year. In 2025, she was named Opera Soloist of the Year for her portrayals of Sister Angelica and Antonia. For these roles, as well as for her interpretation of Mimì in La Bohème, she received the Golden Stage Cross.
